  • AERA Report--Read the "Invited Panel Report On The Community College: Challenges And Pathways American Education Research Association 2002 Convention." (pdf format)
  • The National Council of Instructional Adminstrators, which (like CSCC) is an
    affiliate council of AACC, has put together an interesting annotated
    bibliography entitled, "Useful Information for Community College Leaders."
    It highlights recent journal articles, dissertations, and ERIC documents on
    11 topics, including adjunct faculty, technology and distance education,
    developmental education, and student retention. The bibliography is
    available as a link from their home page (www.nciaonline.org) or as a PDF

  • 21st Century Educational Leadership Profiles Project (University of Florida)
    Serves as a resource for higher educational institutions in candidate selection for administrative positions and/or professional development plans for existing personnel.

  • American Association of Community Colleges
    Participates in a wide variety of national projects and programs, such as Tech Prep, health and HIV, and service learning.
  • Center for Community College Policy (Education Commission of the States)
    Supports the development of public policy that encourages the development of effective and innovative community colleges across the United States.

  • Community College Research Center (Teachers College, Columbia University)
    The Community College Research Center (CCRC) is the leading independent authority on the nation’s more than 1,200 two-year colleges. Since our inception, CCRC’s consortium of researchers has strategically assessed the problems and performances of community colleges. Our mission is to conduct research on the major issues affecting community colleges in the United States and to contribute to the development of practice and policy that expands access to higher education and promotes success for all students. CCRC’s extensive body of research provides a strong foundation on which to build new policies and initiatives to improve the outcomes of these institutions so integral to the higher education system, employment landscape, and national economy.

  • Community College Survey of Student Engagement (University of Texas-Austin)
    Provides information on learning-centered indicators of quality for community colleges. The survey is a versatile, research-based tool that will be useful to colleges as a benchmarking instrument, diagnostic tool, and monitoring device.
  • League for Innovation in the Community College
    Leads a number of projects and competitions with member colleges, corporate partners, and other agencies.
  • PowerPoint Presentations from the CSCC 2003 Conference
    (For members only.) Cover more than 20 topics--including student retention, teacher certification, transfer policy, and degree completion--in a slide presentation format of graphics and text.
  • Priest Center for Community College Education
    Handles issues related to public policy and community colleges, including finance, administration, and alternative teacher certification.

  • Transfer and Retention of Urban Community College Students (TRUCCS), University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education.
    Conducts a three-year, longitudinal and comprehensive study of the goals, success and academic patterns of 5,000 Community College students in urban Los Angeles.
