Call for Guest Editors for the Community College Review Special Issue

The Community College Review (CCR) has led the nation for over 35 years in the publication of scholarly, peer-reviewed research and commentary on community colleges. CCR is seeking proposals from prospective guest editors for a special issue of CCR. Proposals are due by January 22nd, 2010. One proposal will be selected by the CCR editor in consultation with the CCR editorial board for publication in April 2011. The prospective editor(s) for the selected proposal will be notified by the end of February 2010. Please see the attached PDF for more details.

CALL FOR BOOK REVIEW PROPOSALS: Community College Review

The Community College Review (CCR) invites reviews of current books on topics relevant to community colleges and their stakeholders. Researchers, faculty, practitioners, and advanced graduate students are welcome to submit proposals for book reviews to CCR. A proposal should consist of a brief statement about the significance of the book in question, basic information about its publisher and publication date, and a brief summary of the review author's background and reasons for interest in the book. Authors of accepted proposals will be invited to write a book review that is no more than 1,000 words in length. Reviews should include 1) a concise overview of the book’s primary themes and perspectives and 2) a critical analysis of the book’s coherence and significance that considers the book’s strengths and weaknesses, scholarly rigor, soundness of argument, fulfillment of stated objectives, and relevance to the field.
