What is ERIC?

The Educational Resources Information Center is a national information system dedicated to the dissemination of educational research reports, practitioner-oriented materials, and other documentary sources of information that can be used to develop more effective educational methods and programs. First established by the U.S. Office of Education in 1966, ERIC is now administered by the Office of Educational Research and Improvement of the U.S. Department of Education. The ERIC database is the world's largest and most frequently used education database, composed of more than one million bibliographic records spanning 1966 to the present.
